Why We’re Gathering

Lone Pine Canyon is more than a scenic drive into Wrightwood. It is a wildlife corridor, a recreation destination, a connection between communities, and a critical mountain route.

Now, a proposed industrial quarry could fundamentally alter that landscape. The project contemplates generations of mining activity and raises serious community concerns surrounding blasting, crushing, heavy truck traffic, dust, noise, habitat, wildfire and evacuation conditions, and the long-term character of the canyon.

The Lone Pine Canyon Protection Alliance is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed to give this community the resources and organized voice necessary to meet a project of this magnitude. Contributions support the serious work that requires, including legal counsel, expert analysis, environmental review, public-records research, community outreach, and advocacy.

This evening is an opportunity to enjoy good company in a beautiful mountain setting while helping ensure Lone Pine Canyon has people willing to stand up for its future.
